What skills will I learn in the Nail Technician Program?Blue Cliff College’s Nail Technician program provides students with both manicure and pedicure practices and provides opportunities where students can practice manipulative skills in both a classroom setting and a simulated salon environment. Students will be provided with the opportunity to practice critical job skills such as nail art and design, manicuring and pedicuring, skin and nail structure, safety and infection control, and much more. Classes will include lectures, demonstrations, classroom participation, and/or examination. Practical application means actual performance by the student of a complete service on another person as part of the instruction. Upon completion of the program, graduates should be prepared to take the Louisiana Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and, upon passing, become licensed and qualify for employment in beauty salons, nail salons, and other related businesses.
