Are you ready to feel your best without having to sacrifice your makeup? Let’s be honest—your makeup routine can zap away precious time that could be used for sleeping, eating, or just enjoying that morning cup of coffee. Plus, who couldn’t use an extra couple of minutes of beauty rest? It’s time to get the most out of your morning with a simplified makeup routine. Check out our guide on the no-makeup look.

Hacks to Get ‘No Makeup’ Makeup Look

Skin Care First

The best way to impress with the no-makeup look is by taking your skincare routine seriously. It’s such an easy thing to do, yet it’s equally as easy to skip. Focus on creating a routine that’s easy to follow and doesn’t eat up time. Use a hydrating face mask before applying any makeup, so your skin is moisturized.

Hydrate and Use Under-eye Patches

If you have dry skin, then you need to focus on skin hydration before going any further. That’s where under-eye patches come in handy. Not only do they help hydrate and nourish your skin, but they can also reduce puffiness and give you a more well-rested look.

Prime Your Base

Primer is used to smooth out the surface of your skin, helping you achieve a natural-looking makeup look. But honestly, if you’re properly hydrating during your skincare routine, you may not need much primer if any at all.

Go Easy on the Foundation

Let your skin breathe—apply foundation lightly. It’ll be hard to pass off as a no-makeup look when your foundation is thick and fully covering your face. And as you probably know, it can get kind of expensive always having to buy more foundation.

Consider Foundation Alternatives

Don’t love the heavy feel of the foundation or its cost? Try an alternative like BB cream, CC cream, or a tinted moisturizer. BB cream is made for those wanting a multitasking product that they can build on. CC cream is good for blotchy, red, hyperpigmentation, and more. Tinted moisturizer is a hydrating alternative to a typical foundation that can offer additional skincare benefits.

Use Concealer (Only Where You Need It)

Concealer, much like foundation, isn’t a necessity for the no-makeup makeup look. Only use it to cover up dark circles or blemishes. If you must apply concealer, ensure you check for creases. Press the concealer again if you’re seeing creases, and use a powder puff to press and set it under the eye.

Don’t Skip Highlighter

Just because you’re going for a no-makeup look doesn’t mean you can’t shine bright like a diamond. Go ahead and apply that highlighter to just above your cheekbones, onto your cupid’s bow, inner eyes, and the tip of your nose.

Swipe on a Lip Tint

Don’t forget about lip hydration. For a gorgeous, natural look, go with a tint that matches your lip tone. You could even go with lip gloss for an extra pop.

Don’t Overdraw Your Brows

Avoid making your brow arches too defined or painted. Remember, you’re looking for a natural, no-makeup look. Brush up your brow hairs with a spoolie to the shape you want. Then, you can fill in any gaps or sparse areas with your brow pencil. Simply draw wisps of hair where needed and finish setting with a swipe of brow gel.
